72 Almaty Residents Helped Save Hundreds of Lives in a Single Day
As part of the Donor Festival dedicated to World Blood Donor Day, city residents took part in a large-scale blood donation campaign and donated more than 36 liters of blood.
The event was organized by the Almaty City Cardiology Center and the Almaty City Blood Center, with the support of the Almaty Public Health Department and the Almaly District Akimat.
Blood and its components are needed every day for victims of road traffic accidents, patients recovering from complex surgeries, people with oncological and hematological diseases, as well as women experiencing complications during childbirth.
Every year, medical institutions in Almaty require approximately 35,000 units of blood components. Up to 120 blood transfusions are performed daily, and each one can play a crucial role in saving a person's life and preserving their health.
